What do you think of hybrids?

What come to mind when you think of the word Hybrid??

In my mind the word Hybrid usually points towards cars because of the multiple advertisement example the KIA Soul [1]. Well my point to this blog isn't about my opinion, it's about the word Hybrid.


First before I go on with this blog we have to know what the word hybrid means. When I went to dictionary.com I got so weird results on the word hybrid and it's the offspring of two animals or plants of different breeds, varieties, species, or genera, esp. as produced through human manipulation for specific genetic characteristics. This is a main point I got off dictionary.com.



Then why would they use the word Hybrid on vehicles and other things like flowers and luggage, yes even luggage has gone hybrid. Really I thought that luggage was suppose to be an easy thing to deal with now they put the word hybrid in front of it and changed the whole idea with luggage.

Cars I can understand that they can mix 2 thing in a cars engine like they can put electric and gasoline power into a small vehicle that's another way that hybrid can be described 2 things that mix and create a new thing. This can be a good idea but I wouldn't trust my brake system to electrical because you will need a lot of power to stop the vehicle, you will have 80% of the braking system in the front of the vehicle and 20% in the rear because the the force is going towards the front of the vehicle. I wouldn't trust an hybrid system to stop my vehicle I would rather prefer a standard car then a hybrid vehicle.


The word hybrid has also infected on a flowers, honestly i think this is where the word hybrid got loose onto the rest of the items I mentioned. I know flowers are in the definition I gave you but its a great topic to blog about. when i surfed the Internet I got many flowers that are hybrids like the blackberry lily or the leopard lily[2] to be a hybrid flower, I think it got this impression by it's multiple colour scheme I think but there's a possible reason why the blackberry lily is a hybrid like the pollen of another plant mixed with the females pistil and developed a blackberry lily by mixing the genetics of the 2 plants made a whole different plant which made it a hybrid plant.
